The classic rock sounds of the legendary Ambrosia (David Pack, Burleigh Drummond, Joe Puerta and Christopher North) started their magical blend of rock, pop, jazz and classical back in the early seventies. This Southern Californian quartet had all the elements of being a success from day one thanks to the release of their self titled debut smash Ambrosia. Noted for the hypnotic rock ballad Holdin’ On To Yesterday, the band took deeper paths into the prog-rock synthesis with the masterful Nice, Nice, Very Nice which was based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut Jr.’s Cat’s Cradle. These two hit recordings, along with progressive favorites like Mama Frog and Make Us All Aware made this a Grammy nominated popular album with both FM and AM radio listeners in 1975. One year later, Ambrosia hit the radio and retail charts once again with their superlative second offering Somewhere I’ve Never Travelled. Produced by mega hit maker Alan Parsons (The Alan Parsons Project/ The Beatles/Pink Floyd), this daring new album went further into the prog-rock arena and truly found their niche with outstanding tracks like Can’t Let A Woman, We Need You Too, and the stellar title track Somewhere I’ve Never Travelled. With the amazing talents of these musical masters, along with their producer and engineer Alan Parsons, Ambrosia’s first two albums truly made an impact on the music industry, which has enabled their popular brand of classic rock to excel now for over three decades. Filled with a treasure trove of hits singles and deep album tracks, both of these incredible efforts have been out of print now for years....that is until now!
